A human being is part of the whole called by us universe , a part limited in time and space. We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest. A kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from the prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty... We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if mankind is to survive. --Einstein-- I liked this quote and thought i would post it here on the good ol' Shroomery

Awesome ChubbSubb
Einstein was already one of my heroes, and I've never even seen this comment!

You cannot expect to solve the worlds problems with the same mindset used to create them. - Albert Einstein.
The release of atom power has changed everything except our way of thinking... the solution to this problem lies in the heart of mankind. If only I had known, I should have become a watchmaker. - Albert Einstein

"I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own -- a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotisms." [Albert Einstein, obituary in New York Times, 19 April 1955]
I bolded that last line.

I never cared for Einstein. I found his work incomplete and inconclusive. I mean E=MC sq...that is fine but next time, show your work dude!
I hope everyone realises this is a big joke! Ghandi and Einstein are probably my two favorite thinkers of this last century.

Thank Al. A prime example of how great minds can be closed off... Einstein refused to believe in quantum theory and the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle because they directly conflicted with his belief system: God and fate (aka determinism)... hence the "God does not play dice" quote.
Today, we have a quadraplegic in a wheelchair trying to blame everything on fate in his attempts to "decipher" "the mathematical architecture of the universe" and calling it the "Superstring Theory". I hope you all liked that.
