I found this mushroom growing next to cow shit which there was alot of them and the cow shit was probably growing there last year and it spawned this year. I heard that happens from a friend who studies them. The gills are attached and the rind on top is brown but looks more like its dead and just rough. I got a 100x mag scope and i'm going to see if any spores drops and look at them. I have never seen this many and they were only growing in the cow pasture. Heres the pics and tell me what you think. OH yeah is there any faster way to get a spore print. They didn't bruise purple, but they were dying when i found them and it just rained for like 5 days after a 1.5 month drought. They are whitish and smell like protein, old ham or meaty. These were around 3.5 inches in diameter and some others were around 8 to 10 inches in diameter at the largest. Hundreds of them everywhere. The cows were not there though because of field changing for grass. prints.[image]http://155-0731071229b.jpg] [/image] 160-0731071229c.jpg] 145-0731071229.jpg] 150-0731071229a.jpg]

+1 catcu...
"Green-Gilled Lepiota"... it's the most commonly eaten toxic mushroom and is responsible for more mushroom poisonings in the united states than any other type of toxic/deadly mushroom.
