honolulu is just a big ass city, but make sure u get over to North Shore
its where the show LOST is filmed

i stayed at on the big island for a few months. I gotta recomend it. if not for the bud, or all the variety in geologic features, or all the nice reef beaches go for southpoint. southern most point in the USA and great cliff diving spot about 45 feet high

I lived on Maui for 2 1/2 years. It was nice. Oahu is cool but like someone said, get up to the north shore. Just beautiful!

In Oahu I stayed at Waikiki, some good hikes nearby like Nakoa trail, great beach, a couple headshops, this place Natural High and Smokey's. There's also a bunch of stands at the international marketplace and places with pipes. Sadly didn't get to try the bud but I hear it's great. Oh and the food is amazing, especially this place Keo's

Yeah, I don't think it matters too much where specifically in Hawaii we're going. I'm pretty sure we'll enjoy ourselves no matter what. Or at least we better, as much as it's costing.
I've still yet to really try Kava so I was thinking that might be something to do. Maybe we'll set aside one day to just relax and drink Kava all day.
But I do appreciate the suggestions guys and thanks. If we do go to any other islands we might have to make it to the south point of the big island, as was mentioned. That sounds nice.

Do you currently live in a Big City? If so, staying Waikiki/Honolulu might frustrate you with the amount of traffic/buildings/people/etc. However, if you are into partying all night, clubbing, live music, crazy stuff, then that would suit you well. North Shore of Oahu to get away from the hustle & bustle..... rent a little house for 4 or 5 days with your new wife -- I think that would be way cooler than Waikiki.
If you want a littlel more laid-back, less developed/crowded atmosphere go to a neighbor island. They've all got their own charm and unique sights/treasures/adventures/vibes. Drop me a PM - I am currently a tour guide on Maui :-)
