Any advice on keeping my cakes moist?
    #724309 - 07/05/02 07:47 AM (21 years, 2 months ago)

I have a terrarium that is made of a rubbermaid tub, w/ perlite on the bottom, and water. it is sealed as best as I can make it on the top. the thing is, the one shroom that is growing now has the white fuzz on the top, which is supposed to indicate that the cake is try. any ideas on how to further moisturize my tub, w/out pouring more water in? there is already more than enough already.

any tips would be appreciated

The opposite is the case.
If this happens, the moisture in the air is too high!

Better too high than too low though.

I experienced this several times in perlite setups that weren?t fanned several days, also in the mycobags.

I suppose it makes sense that mycelium would spread out to the moisture in the air air.
