You don't want to incubate at too high of a temperature. 86 is the ultimate, don't go higher than that or you might cause any number of problems. If you go too high it will kill the mycelium (it's called thermal death).

About the holes, try using filter disks, then you don't have to worry. Or, alternately you can plug the holes with cotton swabbing or filter fleece.

Have I already caused that thermal death shit Please say NO!!!!!! It has been between 85-90 for two days now..Help!! ANYONE that doesnt tape there holes? What is your % of contaminants. Tell me i didnt fuck up with the temp.

settle down, you have not caused thermal death. 106F is thermal death. your jars should colonize fine. I don't tape my holes, and I have only had 1 contamination ever.

My jars got up to 88-90dg sometimes and my shit was okay. Its not going to fuck anything up.

I havent had any problems, though temperatures have gone upto 90, i have 100% colonisation.
Thermal death, is something that happens at much higher temperatures.
I hope I never to have to face such problems, though temperatures in my country go upto 120 in house during the summers, hot huh ??
I hope I never face any such problems.
