ok got some questions. is it ok to skip the whole fruiting chamber thing, and the incubation. i mean im just looking for a simple grow, almost like neglect. like basically i was planning on innocuilating, let it colonize, taking out and putting on pealite. like in a tub or something, with a lid and misting like once a day or so. is this enough effort?

Worked for me. Only Ide use something else besides a tub, maybe like a small icecream bucket or something with saran wrap. Allways have sterillity in mind.

a tub with perlite is a fruiting chamber. no you don't have to incubate( i don't now anyway with the heat)but you'll want a ten degree drop to initiate pinning and good fruiting temps. And don't forget the light and the misting and fanning...I guess it depends on how successful you want to be? Yes there is work involved. I think you'll like the results better with a little more effort

thanks a lot, ever notice the difference between people that actually grow and people that just hang around the other drugs forum? you guys that help us newbies are a lot nicer. no offense to anyone. well i was planning on maybe putting the jars in my garage to incubate, cuz its humid as hell in there. you think i should just do the whole grow in there since i have central heat and air? its really hot in there.

Well humidity is not a very big factore in the incubation faze, while its still in the jars there will not be a sizeable airflow to add or delete moisture, unless its really hot, most mushrooms will colonize in a wide area of temperatures the further to each extreme the slower the colonization, i have good results at 80-83, also keep in mind that when you birth your jars pf style or case you need to drop your temp about 10

zazz, i use the rafters in the garage i am forced to use. they keep the air cranked up all day, and they work out in the garage all day, then turn the air off and keep the windows open at night... makes a lot of sense huh? either way the temp in the roof part of the garage gets a bout 100 but my box with my stuff gets about 90, in teh night they get about 60-70, i would take that over a 75 degree 24-7 temp anyday for my 'incubation' chamber....
