I've been seeing the same dots I remember from my acid trips after smoking weed today.
I mean it's the exact same thing I saw tripping, but I only smoked weed.
These colored dots I think are called blips but I'm not sure. I've read about them somewhere before and I'd like to learn more because it's the closest thing I've ever had to an LSD related flashback or 'memory'.
Sorry if this doesn't make much sense

That appears to be a type of flashback. I have no experience with strong psychedelics however, so I am not the best person to give you an answer based on experience, but I've read enough to conclude that you have experienced a flashback of some sort.

Yeah, I kind of think it was a flashback to, but a very mild one...
Normally when I think of a flash back I would think of completely reliving that moment in time, but I guess it can come on smaller forms..?

A flashback is mentally - but not physically - experiencin any emotion, sight, sound, or event that you have previously experienced before.

Hmm, that's weird, I don't understand why I would be having a flashback to something so trivial as blips...
I dunno this whole thing has just left me wondering.. Mostly just wanted to dose again though...

From what I've read, flashbacks like those are actually quite common after takin acid, or at least nothin to be considered of "unusual" nature.

I get those once in a while, they always catch my attention and kinda make me stop whatever im doing so I can observe this small extremely densly coloured dot change from colour to colour.
I think theyre cool but I see how they could be bad

i think it is an honest cannibis effect which was overlooked in the past.
cannibis is more psychedelic than it gets credit for.
cannibis has additional effects that often cloak the basic psychedelic ones or else they channel them towards very physical sensations: body sense enhancements, food appreciation, musical immersions.

that is interesting. Though i personally haven't done LSD too many times, but the couple times i did do it i would feel for several days afterwards as if i was seeing things outta the corners of my eyes. weird. not a big deal, just something i noticed.
As far as Cannabis being psychedelic, it certainly has stronger qualities then most people realize. Its just that most people smoke the stuff which isn't the best means of ingestion. Now, make yourself some butter and whip up a batch of cookies. Your talking a whole nother ball game then. You'd be hard pressed to find any similarities between smoking it and then eating it. Much much different, much much stronger. Easily gets overwhelming.

DUDE I have experienced the exact blips you describe.
I am always tripping.
Its like I say, "Once your on, your on."
I get flashbacks almost daily, but I see it as my mind just knowing it has seen vastly beyond the norm.
So flashback is not the appropriate term.
But the blips are normal.
I remember the other day before heading out I smoked some pot, and I experienced massive blips at once and I told my friends in the room, " wow all these colors" they had no clue.

A lot of people suffer from this condition, it is called HPPD (Hallucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder). There are entire message boards dedicated to the subject, check out www.hppdonline.com for a good one.
You appear to have a very mild case of it, as your visual distortions only appear when you smoke weed and are comparatively minor. A very close friend of mine has a bad case of HPPD and he has visual static, halos around objects, floaters (little floating pieces of light and whatnot floating around in his vision), mild trails, etc, when he is SOBER. Smoking weed makes it a lot worse, to the point that for a while he stopped smoking weed altogether because it was simply overwhelming. One time I smoked a joint with him and literally had to carry him inside because the visuals were so intense he practically could not see.
You are lucky that your symptoms do not interfere with your daily life. However, HPPD does often get worse with continued drug use. From my experience (I don't have HPPD but I know a couple people with it), tripping will definitely make it worse and smoking weed will often make it worse as well (especially if you notice increased distortions while you're high). Non-psychedelic drugs (weed is considered a psychedelic for these purposes) like alcohol, coke, opiates, benzos, etc don't seem to have an effect. In fact, my friend claims that every time he rolls (MDMA) his symptoms seem to be improved, although this seems suspicious to me, and I've heard of at least one case of HPPD caused by a pill that was sold as MDMA (fuck knowns what was actually in that pill).
Anyways, I hope you can take this as an early warning sign and not make your condition any worse. Believe me, it may not seem like an issue now, hell, it might even seem kind of cool, but HPPD does ruin lives and you do NOT want to make yours any worse.

Interesting. I see these too, but along with many other things that are a result of some heavy psychedelic use...among other thigns.
What you are seeing sounds COMPLETELY normal though. I know many people who have never touched a drug in their lives that still see the same things. Your mind is just trying to build an association between them and tripping. I highly doubt this has anything to do with HPPD. And most people that think they have HPPD have absolutely nothing at all...just like the poster above me saying this appears to be a case of HPPD...it really doesnt.

I often see coloured blobs, dots, lines, and more recently a faint yellowish to orange thing that looks blinds be opened and closed.
Sometimes I'll also see faint morphing patterns on the ceiling. Very pretty designs, but very faint. Other times I'll randomly zoom in on something and it takes me a while to get my focus readjusted.
I've never taken any heavy psychedelic. Just a low dose of mushrooms, and pot. I was a heavy pot smoker for a while. I hadn't smoked in 2months until Friday. I was drunk and just passed out. Waste  .
Anyway, don't worry. As long as the blips aren't super distracting, it shouldnt be a huge problem =P.

what your seeing is imo connected to the trailing phenomenon as its visual. I have experienced mainly only trails before and usually while smoking.

i get that a lot while smoking some weed and i've never had lsd. i used to get them even before i had mushrooms so it has to be the weed. 
and it's not hppd. if stuff like that were hppd i would've been born with it. for as long as i can remember i have had this little visual hallucinations. when i was young i thought everyone had them, now i know that it's not as common but i have met people who see things similar to the ones i see.

To the person who said I have mild HPPD, I highly disagree.
I've been starting to notice these more and more. I can see them at will almost now. I think it's only when i'm high but sometimes I still see it when I come down.
For me the blips in my field of vision are all one color at a time. Though they do change sometimes, but the whole field of them are all one color. Sometimes red sometimes green.
There is little space between each one but sometimes the pattern changes. The dots normally form this shape pattern )( but they can be parallel.
I'd like more information about what these are if anyone can help? I'm not worried in one bit, but i'm looking for a psychedelic interpretation of what these dots represent if anything..?

i did some cid about a week ago.
last night i shared a splif with my mate, and i was seeing moving, rotating holographic patterens with my eyes closed, and noticable 2d visuals on flat surfaces.
its not flashbacks, its not Hppd, its weed. giving you visuals.

it is stop frame photography with people moving flashlights and shiny things so as to create streaks in color
the colored streaks become movement as thousands of these photos are linked together.
not only does it seem to be so much fun in japan but it also illustrates the nature of some elusive neon visuals that are a delight to the psychonaut. (i.e. persistence of frames)

I know what you're talking about.
This happened to me after the first couple of times I took LSD.
It was really cool at first, and then I got to where I could almost make it happen on command, which is even cooler.
I've had weird things like this happen even before I smoked cannabis though.
As a little kid I'd see these little "worm" looking things wriggling across my field of vision. They looked like clear windows that looked out onto a different Universe or reality or dimension or something. It still happens sometimes.

When I close my eyes, depending on if I'm having an "active" day (what I started saying when I was seeing alot of visual distortions...ALOT and it was harder to control) and I closed my eyes, I sometimes would see things like: a close up of mulch, rooms, furniture, a crowd of people walking, bizarre cartoons, different creatures, alien landscapes, someone talking, memories, sometimes I can just follow a person for a little while...etc
More recently I've been getting a ringing noise in my ears. It's not the typical shortlived tone that many people experience. It's a ringing noise, and then turns to static.
I normally can't see at night because everything black will take on patterns, turn blue and staticy, or I'll see pretty coloured flashinglights and strange animals.
I could go on forever about some of the things I see.
The only reason it concerns me is because I have a distant relative who went schizo after severly abusing drugs in college.
This is an interestng topic. What else do you people see?

Hmmm...I know you all disagree with me, perhaps I should rephrase: I can't say for SURE you have HPPD but it seems like you definitely could. Everyone that says they had these things when they're sober, idk, maybe you do but I've done my fair share of psychedelics and smoked a LOT of weed and I never get these, ever. Maybe if I get super stoned and I haven't smoked for a while I might have some visual distortions as a result of the pot but as soon as I come down it's gone. The fact that you didn't notice these until AFTER seems to indicate that it is at least somewhat related to your drug use.
Again, I'm not trying to push anything on you but consider that you might be denying that you have HPPD because you don't want to admit that further drug use might cause you more problems. Honestly, if you think that people who don't use drugs see blobs, trails, halos, etc, I'm pretty sure you're wrong for the most part.
Like I said, don't take this the wrong way, I'm no expert, just trying to help. HPPD is very real and I have friends who's lives are definitely affected significantly by it. Doesn't sound like whatever you have is giving you any problems right now but if it gets any worse I would maybe reevaluate your priorities.

I'm certain that my drug use has intensified whatever the hell is...with me.
Since I was a kid I'd hear people say my name, see things move out of the corner of my eye, and my mother said that I would cry and get scared at night because there were people in my room (at ages 3-6).
This went away when I was in elementary school. I do remember times where I'd hear people say my name, see coloure blips from time to time.
*Semi unrelated but strange story**
Once after my hamsters died and I was removing their cage from my room (I was 12), I heard a scratching noise on the desk where the cage once was. I put my hand down on the desk, but moved it away quickly because it felt like I just put my hand on one of my hamsters. I then heard a squeaking noise (the exact noise they made), and scratching, like it was running away. Kind of bizarre. At the time it made me happy. I thought they were still with me, and didn't hate me for their death. My fathers cat killed them.
I started smoking weed ALOT a year ago. I smoked more than 4 times I day. I'd stay stoned for months at a time. I'd forget what it was like to be sober. However, when I smoke, I don't usually see the distortions I see now. They go away.
Since I haven't smoked in ages now, I'm sure I'll have mini trips once I start smoking again. I miss those though.
But, I'm not denying that drug use caused/brought back an old "problem" or whatever it is. I fairly positive it has. It's not going to stop me from doing psychedelics, or smoking. I'll just be careful not to do these things in excess.
I need to expand my vocabulary. Fuck.

Sounds very similar, I only became aware of these after taking LSD though...
I probably have seen them before but the LSD increased my awareness to them.

Yes, I get small blips like that from time to time. Also, I'll see movement just out of my direct field of vision when in a trance like state (not even really trance like, just concentrated). Music definitely intensifies it for me. The movement is usually in the form of a wave. Sometimes, thought, it's more like a swirl. Never gets in the way of anything, and I find it entertaining.
In my opinion, these "disturbances", or whatever you like to call them, were always there, and psychedelics really just flip a switch that helps you notice and hone in on them.
Unless these truly disturb you, I really wouldn't worry about it, as I don't think that they're really that unnatural to begin with.
Just my 2 cents.
