Music to trip to?
    #7219799 - 07/24/07 07:47 PM (16 years, 8 months ago)

I am just curious what people listen to when they are tripping?

I guess I listen to classical, psy trance and meditation relaxation music and find the most inspiration comes from psy trance, my wife also agrees that her artistic ability is greatly enhanced by psy trance...

What do you all think? Am I missing out on something special?

sigur ros is great trip music, even sober it is damn trippy. some neutral milk hotel is cool too, very weird sounding so it might be a cool experience.

NMH was fun to trip on LSA, as I feel alot more mysticism and philisophical when on LSA rather to acid, and NMH really gets the mind thinking.

Also I just remembered the song I tripped to on acid.
Sis around the sandmill by Avery Tare & Kria Brekkan. If you can't find it I can send it to you on AIM, it's a real trip to listen to.

check out DJ Motion Potion here http://www.musicv2.com/artist/motion_potion

get the Nickies set, I think it's under mopo themed or set idk click around. there's only 3 choices.
Electroflyd is pretty cool too.

If you can, get DJ Z-Trip - Uneasy Listening. nice lil compilation/mix

Fungus Funk is a psytrance artist that is fucking awesome.

LOTUS is a great psychidelic jam band. I'd recommend downloading this live set http://www.archive.org/details/lotus2006-07-08.flac16 this was up in Indiana at a first time music festival that was really small. whoever did the recording did an excellent job and I guess you could credit some of the great quality to the scarcity of an abundance of people that you'd have at, say, bonnaroo.

Lotus is like a seed that blossoms into a grand tree, and the story of this seed's journey is mixed with unyielding growth, yet gets wicked and dark at times and then continues. they're great, had to say something gay like to explain them.

These threads have been tread 100's of times...
But oh how I love to share good music.

Music that will make any trip memorable:

The Microphones' Glow Pt.2
Built To Spill's Perfect From Now On
The Avananlches' Since I left You
DJ Shadow's Endtroducing
Explosions in the Sky's The Earth is not a Cold Dead Place and Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die...
Anything by Godspeed You! Black Emperor and their spinoffs ( Silver Mt. Zion, etc)
Nearly anything by Aphex Twin (Windowlicker in particular is awsome)
Venetian Snares' Rossz Csillag Allat Szuletett.

Enjoy:mushroom2:

Z-Trip is a GREAT choice as far as groovy hiphop goes. "Everything Changes" is one of my all time favorites of his.
