anybody ever grafted to monstrous?(edit with graft tree idea)
    #7218800 - 07/24/07 06:11 PM (13 years, 9 months ago)

i was thinking of grafting a loph baby to a cereus monstrous. anybody ever heard/tried this before?

also my turtle was thinking of grafting several loph babys all over the monstrose kinda like this.

there is no reason it shouldn't work, right? only thing going wrong i could see it a graft getting knocked off or bruised up a bit. but not if it was on top of the tree. input appreciated.

Hi, I was looking at one cereus of mine exactly the same variety of yours and thinking about doing it someday...
Just for the fun and looks, I won´t expect too much growth from a monstrose stock.
I have recently grafted 4 Lopho pups to a 4 armed Trichocereus I have, pictures will come in time...

This kind of CPM grows very little, it is like a 'mini' CPM.
It will grow into a little 'castle'.

the problem is see is growing tips and it growing other places than your scions.  just try it out   there is little point of doing this other than it is cool, so dont do it for growth or alk's.

You´re totally right, it will grow new tips and the scions won´t grow very much. But it will be fun!
