In Fear of Overlay. Where are my pins? Impatient? (w/PIX)---Oh wait here they come!

Okay, as stated in the subject: I may just be jumping the gun.(Impatient)
":shrug: Hopefully":shrug:

I'm just in fear that my trays are going to overlay.
This is my second time ever fruiting.

Environment Variables are as follows:
90%-95% RH.
74-78 Min and Max Temperatures.
3 Trays : Standard 50/50 Casing / Pasteurized and Buffered with CC.
And 4 standard PF Tek Cakes.
FAE's 3-5 Per Day. Misting when the RH drops.
Cakes used for the trays and the standard cakes left as is were dunked 24 hrs and or dunked and rolled.

These pictures show everything at day 5 in the FC.

I just need a little reassurance these bitches aren't on their way to matting up and overlaying.

I've tried my best to follow:

My cakes are just growing more and more Mycelium everyday.
And the trays seem to be growing Aerial Rhizomorphs or hopefully they're Hymphal Knots.:shrug:

Someone please let me know what's up.
If I just need to keep waiting, than I already know how to do that.

There fine overlay and over-colonization are two different things.I would have introduced fruiting sooner and not let the mycelium colonize the casing layer so much but hey live and learn...pretty good for the first attempt.

I did start fruiting them earlier. Here's a picture from my grow log.

This is Day 1 in the FC. "After patching"

I don't understand why the mycelium is still so aggressive.
It's like devouring the casing layer for some reason.

I've read that cakes take a good week or two to Fruit but these casings are just giving me a headache.

Any Thoughts?

Just wait it out. Those trays look good, they're ready to pin, they just need a few more days.

So this is a peat/verm mix with lime correct? just making sure we are all on the same base.Some strains are pretty aggressive.

My first rye casings took 19 days to pin. My temp was a little cool 69 to 71. I was getting paranoid also, but yours are fine and will soon kick ass.

Waiting a few days solves almost every problem posted to this forum. :smile:

Even if they overlaid, they wouldn't just not fruit.

Overlay prevents fruits from forming since there would be a layer of dead cells..This looks like over colonization not overlay.

You got it. Peat Moss / Verm / and Calcium Carbonate.
Pasteurized @ 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

hmm whats the ph before you applied the casing layer?.Also pasteurize at 150-160 anything more than that and it will sterilize the casing layer.

Overcolonization?

Overlay doesn't prevent fruits from forming, it just robs them of the advantages of the casing layer. Overlay is when the mycelium overtakes the casing, colonizing it completely and preventing it from absorbing (and supplying) extra moisture during the grow, which is its purpose.

It has nothing to do with dead cells. I've seen people say that before, and it's nonsense. It doesn't even make sense.

Truthfully, I didn't even check the PH before hand.
I just figured, "Adding some kind of PH buffer was in every single 50/50 recipe I've read and I didn't skip any steps this time." Except checking the PH of course.

Overlay is kind of a confusing subject to me.
But on this site, there is a lot of information floating around.
I just try to read whatever the Mods have filtered into their own "Teks" and do my best to follow those.

But I also have been PM'ing a couple of regular members as well for pointers here and there.
