I've learned two things today:
1- Incense is for hippies
and 2- I hate the smell of sandalwood with a burning passion.

I used to like Nag Champa, until everyone had it. that incense spreaded like wild fire.

I really don't like it... it's overpowering.
I don't want to burn incense to cover the stink of a dead body or anything... I just want a pleasant bit of fragrance in the air. I can see someone liking these Padmiri incenses... but not me. God, sandalwood makes me nauseous.
The place I bought from sells HEM incense and they seem to have some nice, simple scents like vanilla and strawberry, and some novelties like opium and cannabis scent... I'll have to try that company's incense. A bit of vanilla or opium scent would be far more welcome than this pungent Indian incense.

i like sandlewood and use it as a spritz. you just reminded me that at the bottom of my incense drawer I had some cool incense. Refound my opium sticks  .

i love nag, it is sooo good...i also love superhit....
those smells really have a lot of memories attached to them for me...every time i smell them i get a rush of good times and memories flowing through my mind

Dude, I think our sense of smell is one of our best senses,
when I smell certain things, I am instantly transported to a certain,
time and place.
Thats ones reason I love to have sticks burning like its a
head shop here.

I'm fond of certain smells too... but none of them smell like a VW van full of hippies or a Hindu wedding.
Vanilla I'm very fond of, for example.

Best incense I ever had I got at the Indian Pow Wow when it came to Denver a few years ago. Smelled kinda piny and was very nice

The only incense I like is sandalwood, the rest make me want to puke.

Oh I love Nag Champa too it brings me back to some really good places I have been before.
Sometimes I get some mint extract and put that into a little distilled water and just spray the room. Mint is an enegizer and is nice when you're busy at a computer or doing something where you need to be alert.

I prefer scented candles. they just seems a lot cleaner, so to speak. Cucumbers and melon is a good scent.

i've always been partial to patchouli...i like the way a room smells after it's done burning, or the way it makes clothes smell.
i haven't had any incense in awhile though. does anyone have a good brand of patchouli they want to recommend?

My robe and nemyss still reek of cinnamon from when I evoked Orobas a few weeks ago. Never liked the smell of cinnamon, made even worse from a bad experience I once had with it . Shoulda used cedar. C'est la vie.

I don't like the word Smell. That Lynyrd Skynyrd song "ooh that smell" is so fucking annoying. Whenever I think of smell, I think of hell and old dishwashing water. "Ooh ooh that fragrance" has too many syllables. I guess I'll never like that song 
Yeah Nag Champa is overrated.

I prefer the essential oils - much cleaner. Using sandalwood and patchouli a lot lately as fragrances. Ylang-ylang is very relaxing. And a little rose water added to beverages is the dog's meow.

I'm on the same page with you regarding Nag Champa. It can be too overpowering. I like Japanese incense for that reason. Shoyeido is my favorite brand.
I don't mind sandalwood, but I hate cedar incense. I like the smell of cedar boxes, but putting that scent in an incense blend was a bad idea. And I really dislike sage. The smell gives me a headache.
