Nightmares

Am I going crazy?

Last night was the 3rd night in the past week and half that I had a nightmare about dying. I don't actually die in the dream because I wake up...and the situation is different each time.

What does this mean? And how do I make it go away?

My doctor always says take more anxiety pills, and one of my friends has suggested I start meditating...

Anyone else have any suggestions?

Fonda

Nah ur not going crazy lol, well u may be I don't know. But u could try writing ur dreams down, every detail u remember, everytime u dream. Check into Lucid Dreaming, u could get control over ur dreams and alter them. I'm not explaining this very well so just google it or something.

I used to document my dreams when I constantly had dreams about the same girl (an ex) and would wake up from them feeling depressed as shit. It never really helped, I got over it eventually. I find that smoking weed b4 bedtime prevents me from recalling my nights dreams.

Not to worry

Taking more anxiety pills sounds like a terrible idea to me.

It might help to examine what's happening in your waking life at this time. Think about what you're going through and your realtionships. Maybe there's one or a few pressing issues taking up a lot of your time and energy. Find out if you're really worrying about something in particular. Just take some time and go into these issues. Chances are you will gain some insight and you might come upon thoughts and feelings that had not occured to you yet which could help you work some things out.

My point is, change your waking situations and mental landscape and maybe your sleep time will be different.

Hmmmm,

Yes I do agree, it probably does have something to do with my waking situation...lots of stress right now...

But dreams about dying? that is just weird

take up lucid dreaming practices, and next time you are about to die, realize that it is a dream, and either let it happen and see where you go, or avoid the situation all together

Calling dreams weird is like calling grass green. In my experience, more often than not, grasses are some shade of green and dreams are some shade of weird.

Well I decided to temporarily take my doctors advice and take extra anti anxiety meds before bed.  No more nightmares about dying, just right fucked up dreams, like my longterm memories all jumbled up.

I wish I could just go back to sleeping like the dead - no dreams and nothing could wake me up (no even smoke alarm )

I guess until I get over this time of inner turmoil, the dreams will have to be tolerated...

Learn to love them?

My favorite dreams are the ones I die in. Just like tripping, I do not beleive in a bad trip or bad dream, only difficult ones...and that's where I have the most fun!!
