Help with bulk substrate

I recently purchased a bag of "Horse Manure with composted humus" and was wondering if this would be okay for a bulk grow. I plan on using liquid culture and untimately spawning WBS to some Hpoo. But I don't know if this bag of poo is the right poo... anybody know if I could use this or should I get pure Hpoo? I don't want the stinky stuff. But I was wondering if this bag would work and if it can work, will it affect the amount of shrooms I can get or make the growing process any harder?

Typically the h-poo we're looking for is field aged and has been leached by the rains and dried by the sun. It's a hard, dried little nug and is *not* the fresh stuff from stalls, round-pens that is semi-composted and sold as fertilizer.

Keep in mind that inoculating or whatever in front of a flow hood won't help your bad substrate, your bad inoculant, your bad sterile procedure, etc. etc. etc. It's not a +3 flowhood of magic, it's just a tool.

I've recently seen my first few bags of hums and horse manure and i don't like the looks of the stuff, horse manure is free just look in the phone book for stables and tracks, and don' be afraid to get them on the phone and ask.

i bought a bag of that stuff once, ended up being cut with too much sand looked more like mud and pebbly sand than anything fluffy and airy that mycelium would like..
as for the stable advice.. i did that a while back, and im glad i did so i second that =)
call teh stable, say you're interested in manure for composting or horticultural needs...they'll say hell yeah, come get it
once you get the ok, just drive out there, find the owner or whatnot, to announce your presence and say hello, and they'll direct you to a pile of shavings or tell you how to obtain it i even borrowed shovels from them routinely, very nice folk

What if I were in a situation where I couldn't find any "good" hpoo? I'm almost positive there aren't any stables anywhere close to where I'm at. Is there any other way of getting the "good" hpoo other than calling up some stable owners? Can it not be bought at a store?
I've seen businesses with a few greenhouses and massive amounts of mulch/fertilizer around here. Has anybody had any experiences with that?
and.... this 40 pound bag of poo isn't the right poo? I mean, my shrooms would turn out pretty bad if I used it, wouldn't they?

I tried and tested Coir as a bulk substrate, and while it doesn't flush as many times as Hpoo, in a situation like YOURS, it would be ideal..it preforms great with a deep substrate depth, like 4-6 inches...You could add some light phbuffer to ensure it lasts more then the two flushes it lasted me.
