No cubes do not benefit from cold shocking at all.Cold shocking is good for some edibles though.

Ya see, the thing is I am trying to get my B+ shroom cakes to pin. They wont and the cakes have been all white for 2 weeks now. I haven't even birthed them out of there 1/2 pint jars yet. What can I do, to make them start pinning?

find out why they aren't pinning how long did you let em sit when they were fully colonized?temps?humidity?fae?light?

Usually what happens is people birth them as soon as they are 100% colonized the bad thing about this is the middle might not be colonized so when you put it in fruiting conditions it still has to colonize the middle then fruit.

Take them out of the jars dunk them 24hrs in the fridge roll them and place them in the FC and give them a week. GL

sorry to argue against a mod, especially hyphae, but i would say DO NOT dunk in the fridge, but dunk in room temperature, ass RR did in his video. dunking in the fridge will be too cold for the myc, it will not initiate pinning but rather slow down or halt the growth

Reason for the fridge is it slows down bacteria from building up.

Fridge dunking can speed up the transition between vegetative growth and generative growth it is not needed but it can hasten pinning overall. A properly adjusted fridge is not too cold for the myc (fact) and thats been proven consistently throughout the years. Understand fully colonized cakes do not need anymore vegetative growth from this point there is a needed transition which most fail to realize exactly what this stage involves. There is a point where people concentrate so much on only one aspect of an issue that they fail to see other related aspects. :frown:

Considering your fridge is a safe haven for bacteria
