i disagree only b/c i lived with my mother for 18 yrs and i honestly do believe that there is not a shred of love in her entire being. if there were, then there would be some kind of feeling in her eyes when she'd see me crying b/c of the things she did to me. there would be some kind of sign that she had any feelings at all. she acted normal outside of home. E.g.: she went to church every sunday and pretended to pray and be a good christian, but when she got home... it was a whole different story.

i'm certain that this woman is evil. if there's a hell; she's going there.

thats why i said in my book. i was going by particular definitions, and the person of whom im talking about suits those.

who is this "one"? you? not everybody is you.

as for the rest, it doesn't have anything to do with what im talking about.

is this semantics class?

but the original poster is still right, though. without my mom in my life... um... well... i'm sure something positive came from me being born to that awful woman.

That's probably one of the most ignorant things I've read.
Now I'm not going to get into explaining why labeling someone as being evil is not OK, because I just did that earlier, and the same responses apply to you.

But what makes of you when you hope her to die soon?
Doesn't that make you "evil"?
That's exactly the kind of mentality I was talking about - assuming the role of victim.
If you find that your relationship with your mother is destructive, grow out of it and assume your own life.

This is not a semantic class but we're still ,allowed to contradict each other in order to get things more clear.
And because the way we use words influence our lives and the way we think.
That's exactly why I made those points and this doesn't meant that I have something against you, so there's no need to get all defensive.

is it not ok to label a kitten killer evil?

in some cases, evil is not your ordinary label. and mt, isn't it kind of ignorant to assume you know casseopeia00's mother?

ok it is ignorant to say she wants her mother dead, i missed that part..

but im not trying to be defensive, i just think your going a little too far with this. i agree with what you said about the labels, it's not like i go around labelling anyone who's a little dark. im talking about those who are totally against the wave of love. these people prevent love from happening in their lives and others lives. this is all im saying. and i don't feel this is your ordinary label. it is more like the opposite of bliss.

Simple.
So, of course, ones' parents can be evil too.

i don't really care what your opinion is. i know my mother is evil. that's why i moved away from indiana b/c she was physically and mentally abusive, she would find ways to steal my money, my mom and dad divorced when i was at a young age and he had been sending college money to a juvenile account for me and i never got to see any of that money b/c she stole it. i still to this day haven't been able to go college b/c she makes too much money and even though i haven't been living with her in almost 4 yrs, i'm still considered a dependent of her until i'm 25. i have scars on my body because of the "evil" things she did to me. she almost choked me to death one night b/c she said i was a little bitch and didn't deserve the life she gave me.

maybe if you grew up with my mother you'd think she was evil, too. everything i say is true and don't need someone who is too headstrong to listen saying that my words are ignorant.

Well you posted on a public forum and you opened your story to discussion since you posted it.
More than that, it is a debate forum and everybody's free to agree or disagree on what other people said.
I am not saying that what she did to you is ok, but you wanting her death makes you exactly like her in my book.

While I generally avoid using moralistic terms such as "good" and "evil" to describe individuals, I agree that your use of this term is definitionally accurate.

Quote:

Evil
1. Morally bad or wrong; wicked: an evil tyrant.
2. Causing ruin, injury, or pain; harmful: the evil effects of a poor diet.
3. Characterized by or indicating future misfortune; ominous: evil omens.
4. Bad or blameworthy by report; infamous: an evil reputation.
5. Characterized by anger or spite; malicious: an evil temper.

I suggest that this discussion move away from an exchange of personalisms, especially since the topic is the amazing people we CHOOSE TO BE AROUND (which I hope would not include those who abuse us).

I am sorry to say this, from your posts it seems that your mother is smarter than you.

i never said that you weren't entitled to your opinion. I just said that i didn't care what your opinion was b/c i know the truth. i also don't care what you say about me wishing she were dead. that doesn't make me evil to wish she were dead. what's so evil about wanting something bad to go away and never come back? would you rather me say i wish she would disappear out of thin air and never return? b/c that would be less likely to happen.

Are you actually saying that it is "less smart" to be an abused child, and "more smart" to be an abusive parent:confused:

I have come across a few people who have taken control of their lives even at an young age, who have gotten out of the control of their abusive parents, and what's more, they are leading happy and successful lives.
