For fuck sakes its not ok to do some drugs what so ever..

As for mushrooms 16 but id try and make that 18.

i would say 23-24 is probably the best time to start, the reason i say so is because that is the period around which the human brain slowly stops developing.

yeah I'd say about the same, maybe even a lil older, then again it could change their lives for the better if younger, as it did with mine.

Just gotta make sure they're academically stable if they wanna delve into that.

This isn't aimed toward anyone, but with all due respect, the only way to appreciate the purpose of (if any) mind altering substances is to just try it. 

I wanted to do mushrooms because I heard and read that they seriously alter your consciousness.  (i.e. See shit).  What started as a craving to dive into the unknown ended with me being very educated on the subject and a new found respect for the fungus. 

If my [future] kids do drugs I don't want to know about it until they're 18 and I'm sparking a bowl with them or buying them their first beer, but I still think if they're curious they should satisfy it in a safe manner.

EDIT:  I guess mushrooms weren't the best example to make, but it still gets my point across.  :shrug:

IME the transition between teenager and adult (~18) is the perfect time to start with psychedelics. I don't know about anybody else but they really helped me grow and develop as a person during this crucial stage of my life.

i dont know man. i dont really have much contact with him other than family gatherings. i was just informed of this recently. hes in a rough situation, as are his 3 sisters. i hope those kids come out ok. they really have no guidance.

It really depends on the kid. I was a late bloomer when it came to drugs. Weed was the only drug I had tried before the age of 18. I wouldn't hold the same expectations for my kids, but I'd be honest and frank about my own experiences, and hope they make the right decision.

Nobody really knows as far as mushrooms go with toxicity to the brain. If they were off to try shit like ecstasy, then yeah I'd say wait till 23-24 when your brain is done developing.

If I hadn't taken mushrooms when I was 17, which I owe for getting my life on a better track, then I probably wouldn't be here in college, done as well in athletics or in academics, and may even still be smoking out with my old drop out friends.

On another note, I don't think it'd be something I'd totally dismiss from my kids until they were of a certain age. IF I have kids, I'd definately talk about drugs with them. My dad never told me shit except for the bad stuff coke does to your nose/brain. I still did coke at one point but not to the extent of my friends probably because I was a little more informed about what I was doing to myself.

As for mushrooms, maan, I don't know. The universe has a way of letting everything fall into place. If I hadn't gone overboard on some things in my past then I wouldn't be able to find my balance where i'm at now. I don't know if I'd credit that to sports and school simultaneously, because school and sports in college was ridiculous until I figured it out, but it has definately shaped me into a better individual as far as making decisions about what I should and shouldn't do.

Bottom line, you gotta be open with your kids and they'll be open with you. just give you honest opinion and don't regurgitate some anti-drug bullshit until they're 18 and say it's ok then.... but yeah anyhow i'm done

I would investigate whether or not your cousin was lying. I doubt some other 11yr old hipster came up to him and told him to watch pokemon on some good stuff (IMO bad). If he is telling the truth, whoever gave him/her those things might be a very very very bad person that needs to be taught a lesson. I know people in their late 20's who can barely handle pot maturely so this one is kind of a hard question to answer. Drugs are a lesson of discipline for sure regardless of your age, and it seems to attract those with too much discipline or too little.

I don't think there really is a certain age requirement, just as long as the person is mature and ready. But I will say that 11 year olds doing drugs is ridiculous. I would say if you're gonna start, start in highschool and no less than that. But saying "18 because thats when your an adult and mature" is not a very strong arguement because theres a ton of stupid-ass 18 year olds out there and plenty of very mature 16 year olds.

Okay, so I've been able to ascertain that, for some reason, you like to replace the "sh" in shrooms with a "z" but who the hell said you can't mix shrooming and swimming? I would think that it would be perfectly fine with a low dose.

Sorry for the segway. To keep with the thead subject, I would agree with most everybody and say that 18 is good. Although I first smoked pot at 12 and was 16 for acid.

First drug I ever had was herbal ecstasy (aka. ephedrine at the time) that was when i was 14 then came alcohol, weed, dxm, then all sorts of mind altering substances and pills. Luckily I never got addicted to opiates or amphetamines which i used every so often at the young age i was taking them. I would have to say 17 or 18....but it all depends on how much self-discipline you have. Really I think "addiction" is pathetic. (I say this as I put in another chew)

I'd say it would most likely ultimately depend on their outlook on life, direction etc. But overall, 16-18 sounds reasonable to me.

Depending on how you look at the nature of drugs, they can help you identify yourself as a person. For me drug use has only bettered my life . I feel some drugs can unlock a lot of hidden talents and ways of thinking you might never have experienced.
