I got my syringes ready .. Too bad I left my vermiculate and brown rice in my friend's car and gotta wait till next monday to get them! . Was wondering if is it possible to make a substrate from a household item in the kitchen.. Im curious to experiment on a jar. Any opinions would be helpful

dont experiment. just wait. do you have everything ready? - fruiting chamber made, some way to make the humidity right. a hygrometer. all those goodies. just wait. its not worth it to waste any. specially if its your first time. i just started my first grow on monday (7-15) of 8 BRF jars (1/2 pint) and they started to colonize yesterday (7-19) all of them w/ no contams...so far *crosses fingers* i cant wait to see what im going to learn from this. i think ive got all i need to go. good luck to you, i'd just wait!

yes it's better if I'll wait.. on the fruiting process i was gonna go pretty simple.. a quite big container with water and the cakes suspended on lids with a plastic bag on the top of the container.. fan them daily n shit... Im pretty positive..

yea go with perlite not wet paper towels or standing water since they are more likely to contam. You can get perlite at garden stores(home depot, lowes, walmart)nurseries, hydro shops.
