MicroOrganisms in substrates...
    #720258 - 07/03/02 11:33 AM (22 years, 4 months ago)

Was just curious as to what happens if there was things like e. coli in horse poop and if it would survive pasturization so I did some research and I found a site with a pretty good chart for anyone that may be curious about the same thing.

So after reading that chart does that mean that the temp during pasturization of manures should go above 80C(176F) for at least a minute to be sure e. coli is eliminated?

From here:
http://www.ifst.org/hottop1.htm

"....VTEC is destroyed by heat; adequate cooking of meat (70 deg C for 2 minutes internal temperature)... "

frrom here
http://www.who.int/inf-fs/en/fact125.html
"It is destroyed by thorough cooking of foods until all parts reach a temperature of 70C or higher."

So that would put eating raw meat in what category?
