Friends i have a few questions for you. I am novice in a growin', and (i know u will laughin), but in my country (Serbia), with 12.000.000 citizen, maybe 5 are eat shrooms. No one know what they look like, that "drug" never been on ours street! So i will hope that i will succeed to grow some.I know that you are gonna help me, because, you are cool, and want to share your knowledge with others... Thanks. My questions are: 1. For the grain, if it sold for human comsuption, that mean they are grown without fungicide or, this is not ever case? 2. In this time of the year, temperature in my country is near 40 c. What strain of cubensis can tolerate a high temp?I know that many of cubensis die on 106 F, or 39-40 c, but what strain can best survive, and grow on few degrees below 40 c? 3. For casing layer can i use just a straight peat moss? 4. I was search on shroomery but i cant find how to water casing. I have to mist the walls, or the casing layer straight? What when a mycellium colonize a casing layer? Is it safe to mist the casing layer with myc? 5. Can i dry shrooms, on just straight air? Thoss on the shelves and forget?
I learned such a things from you... I was just read, and read, and read... I havent ask you any question because, i want to learn how sistem work, and then ask. Search feature of website was my best friend.I hope that my question, are not tooo stupid, but i want to learn what i have not found. Thanks, you will alredy help me a lot, with your posts that i read. I show and talk to my friends on growing shrooms, and they not believe me! They say that is simply impossibile! You get the picture, on my country?... Sorry for my poor English, and one more time, THANKS!!!

1) I've never seen this but since they wouldn't want you eating that, I'd assume. Look for organic or buy rye grass seed from a sponsor.
2) Not sure about this one. It really stays above 100 F in your house? Turn down your thermostat. lol.
3) Yes... but I'd recommend 50/50 coir/verm
4) You mist the casing. Misting the walls is for humidity. Misting the casing is to add water to the casing. And yeah, it's fine until it gets pins. Just don't over do it.
5) They'd rot before they got dry... but I guess you might have a chance if it's over 100 F inside your house. But even if it is 100 F in your house... is a fan to dry them really that expensive? Of $5 worth of dririte? I'm still not sure why you don't turn down the damn thermostat in your house and cool it down a bit in there. You must sweat your balls off all day.

Well if he is in Serbia he probably doesn't have air conditioning. Not everyone is as spoiled as us westerners.
I would say the high temps would be ok when fruiting (I have seen pics of people in Arizona fruiting outside) but might be too high for colonizing the mycelium. If you can't lower the temp you might want to wait until it's a little cooler.
If you use peat moss you need to add a little lime because the ph is too acidic. And yes you could use a fan to dry them out.

#1 - Most rye is not treated with anything, just for piece of mind you should get it from a hippie market rather than feed store just to be in the save side
#2 - I'm not sure,sorry
#3 - I'm sure you could use only peat moss but you will get much better results with MGMC or a good 50/50 mix
#4 - Feel free to mist all you like, spray above and let the mist fall onto the casing rather than aiming at the casing itself
#5 - Depending on how hot and it is where you are you MAY be able to dry this way.Aim a fan at the and even at room temp they will dry just fine if it is not humid where you live

I think you would be surprised....Many in the mediterranean consider this as an essential thing to have, and chances are that if he has his own internet connection, he has A/C

But since there is an issue of temps being expressed that does tend to lead someone to believe there is no ac.
Would you consider Serbia the Mediterranean?

I would actually consider Serbia a mediterranean country. You do have a point though saying he might not have an AC. But I'm sure he does know someone... Anyways, he'd have better chance of growing (without AC) if he moved to california :P This brings us back to finding a strain that is heat resisitant....
