How do I build up stem strength

I'm growing a plant that has grown to fast and has tipped over its only 7 inches tall. I was wondering how do i strengthen the stem? Right now i have a fan on it to hopefully help any suggestions?

Do you have enough light on it. Sounds to me like your light is to far away, don't have the right light, or somethhing like that. What are some specs of your grow?

I'm guessing that this is inside, right? Your problem is most likely etoliation. If the lightsource is too weak/far away a plant will grow tall quickly in order to reach it, and it will be very weak and spindly. To correct this, as you might guess, move the light source closer or increase the light.

try gentally squeezing the stem breaking the inner hurd, in a few days it will callus up and it will re adheare itself and be stronger and be able to suppply nutrients more efficientlly, its called super croping: tieing, breaking, bending, pruning, youll learn how to handle your plants after a while of playing with um and massaging them gently, good luck

Seriously examine the light, though, because if that is where the problem is, then any callussing or stregnthening you try and do will only delay the inevitable.

That will not help if it is the light. He said the plants were growing to fast to hold their own weight, which is a common sign that the plant isn't getting enought light. He can squeeze all he wants but until he fixes the real problem his plant will turn out long and spindly even with a fan blowing on it.

The light was the problem, It improved within 12 hours. Its stable but I'm still going to keep the fan blowing on it. However all advice given in the forum has been acknowledge I will keep in mind about messaging the plant in case I have a problem such as that. Thanks again shroomery I just wish I knew how to pay back my gratitude for all the great advice I have received off this site.

7 Inches it should have a stem wide enought to support itself,Probley streching due to lack of enought light or not enought water. If its getting enough water like toolbar said put a fan on it,Should help toughen it up.

If it's cannabis, then these factors will influence the lenght, or better the lenght between new nodes. (don't know if that the right term, in germany we call it "internodien" but i can't translate it properly, leo.org doesn't know it. It is where new branches are developed.)
- Space between lamp and plant
- Wind strength applied to the plant
- Genetics (bad seeds = many phenotypes)
So move your plant as near to the light source as possible and make your fan blowing strong!
I would not recommend scoring or squeezing the stem, it is stress for the plant and that's something you only want at the end of the flowering stage!

not enough light and growing inside you always want a fan to help make them stronger for when it is time to bud
