It "could" work, but you are at a much higher risk of contamination....

my guess: growth is slow and you would probably get contams. I suppose LC is very vounerable to contams due to the fact it's just full of good stuff for them to eat, and it has never contacted them before like wild myc, but I am not 100%.
If you did a large mycobag of compost it might work, I have used coir/verm to do little jars quickly, but it's not very strong myc at all, so I don't know if it would be worth the effort to just not use grains.

I think the same applies for all substrates we mix up...
Look at it this way. You've just mixed up a fresh batch of very yummy nutrients that several hundred different types of microbes like to eat. What we attempt do to by colonizing grains or whatnot before spawning is to create an entire "colony" / "army" etc. that can more rapidly assume control of the total substrate and therefore bar any contaminates from infecting it.
The term "myco piss" is very specifically healthy mycelium creating antibiotics to kill and repel contaminates.
The reason spore and liquid cultures aren't a real "viable" solution is because our healthy mushrooms are, compared to our contaminates, very++ slow to colonize. Also, because many mushroom species have 4-40 different sexes, thousands of incompatiable sub-strains of the mushroom exist in spore / liquid culture form. So until there is only one winning set of genetics, they're all fighting against themselves as well.
So, to make our process more stable and the results more reliable, we inoculate grains and such in sterile micro-climates until we get to that point...and then unleash them.
--- Oh, and on a much more practical note... It's a HELL OF A LOT less disappointing to throw out three contaminated quart sized jars than it is to throw out a 7-gallon tub of prepped substrate.

Don't mistake my tone for a "matter-of-fact" attitude. I'm just presenting what I believe to be correct, until I'm corrected...

Keep in mind that inoculating or whatever in front of a flow hood won't help your bad substrate, your bad inoculant, your bad sterile procedure, etc. etc. etc. It's not a +3 flowhood of magic, it's just a tool.
