C02
    #719743 - 07/03/02 07:35 AM (21 years, 8 months ago)

I've grown Marijuana before, indoors, and plan on doing it again. (Happily upgrading from fluro crap, to 150w scrog! But that doesnt matter!) I know with MJ, C02 can be benificial, and making it is pretty easy. All it requires is sugar water and yeast. I was simply wondering if shrooms enjoy C02 as well, or if they simply dislike it? If so, what negative effects can be caused?

I havent started any shrooms yet, as I dont have the neccessary equiptment, so I guess its simply smarter to ask dumb questions like this before anything begins!

Thanks

While myhcelium is incubating, raised levels of CO2 are beneficial (for cubensis, Stamets lists 5,000 - 10,000 ppm). But when fruiting, you want the air to be fresh (less than 5000ppm).

You definitely shouldn't do anything to raise the CO2 level. Too much will suffocate the mycelium. They do need a certain amount of gas exchange during incubation.

I don't think it would be worth your time.
