uncased horse poo
    #719583 - 07/03/02 05:32 AM (21 years, 9 months ago)

Has anyone fruited uncased poo? Did it gave decent flushes?

I wanted to know this because i need fruits for the 20's july (end of my exams ) and i'm almost running out of shrooms. If i case my colonized manure i'm not sure i'll have fruits till then. I was thinking about casing after the 1st flush. It looks really overlayed as a normal nutritious substrate. Will it produce a decent flush in a regular fruiting chamber with proper conditions for casings?

All the help apreciated
P.L.

It's not necessary to case colonized manure.

I recently cased my first ones in poo....but my conditions werent good for casing in my fruiting chamber. So I flipped them upside down so the verm is now on the bottom. So I just have a large cake, with verm on the bottom helping supply the water, without the worry of having to have exact conditions for a casing.

I have found that without casing the poo I get a lot more aborts. not sure if that is the cause?

Well it's been almost 3 weeks (i think) and it didn't pin.

Do you think i should case now?
Scratch the surface of the poo?
Cold shock it for the 2nd time?
All of the options combined?

Thanks
