Should I add some more moist vermiculate to the top of the casing? The casing has become lowered from the deep scratching and remove of mycellium for testing.

You can mist the casing layer with a plant mister with sterile water. Once the mycelium has penetrated the soil you though you don't really want to do this. Best method is to use an ultrasonic humidifier. This will keep the layer moist and the humidity at 95% or greater.

I think the higest you want your humidity for a casing is about 92%.

You could inject sterile water into the casing with a syringe; hit about 10 spots with about a cc in each spot.

You don't want to overhydrate them. I did that and had bad results.
