i was thinking of cutting my cakes in half (side ways) and let the 2 halfs friuit
has anybody done this?
or would this mess up the cake?

I imagine that would be feasible. Try it with a cake, it doesn't hurt to try...

I think that it would be an advantage if you were going to case, because the two halves would re-join and share resources just like a whole cake. However, for uncased fruiting I would think that the thinner cakes would have a tendency to dry out quickly.

Try it out, though! I've never claimed to always be right!

This could work but in the long run you will still end up with the same amount of fruit. there would be no real gain.
but like it says a few posts up this may be good for caseing. as it will fill out the pan better and the mycileum will have less recovering than if it was broken into small pieces..

You'de have more surface area to fruit from. Also, look into the Flat Cake Tek
