Do they stain blue? If not thats the same little bastards that grow over here too and they arent active.

think I know what you've got there but could be wrong do to the poor quality of the pics shown....

Panaleous Antillarum- a non active species most commonly found from dung. Found quite a few of those on my hunt last night as well.

If I'm wrong then they would be staining blue and most likely be a Cope Cyan but I'm not sure if those even grow in Alabama- ?

Do they stain blue? What color is the spore print?

Theyr'e definately some kind of Pan, just not sure if they're active. If they don't stain blue and they were growing on manure, I'd say you have Pan antillarium, which is inactive =\

yea i just found a field that had about 500 of htose things that were visible from the road. too many people were around so i dunno if there are any active ones in the group or not. Any possibility that there might be some copes in that group? Or do similar mushrooms always grow around each other? Im going at dawn to pick so we shall see.

One more question? Ive heard that some mushroms wont turn blue (even if they are supposed to) if they have been out in the sun too long. is this a possibility?
