Incubate the jars upside down, so they can slide right out into the terrarium.

If you are following the PF-tek to the letter why do you even have to ask whether to use widemouth or tall 1/2 pints?

i wish so much that the pf tek would be specific about which side goes up once the jars go into the terrarium. i had the same problem. the answer is that they need to be oriented the way they were incubated, otherwise they will not grow out of the top\bottom. it won't matter in the end very much actually, i think you'll get the same amount of shroom no matter how they're oriented. and widemouth is definetly best.

Thank you very much. Right-side-up does make the most sense, will do. And yes, I just looked, the PF Tek says widemouth--I just overlooked.
