has anyone ever seen this?
    #7192416 - 07/18/07 11:33 AM (17 years, 6 months ago)

it's off of my slowest cake's first flush. the mushrooms don't seem to be all that great. all of the other cake's first flushes were great, but this one not so much.

might it have something to do with FAE, humidity? or are they all just mutated or something

ive had this phenomenon pop up before
i call it 'hair lipped mushrooms'

i eventually attributed it to either genetics, or FAE/humidity.
though, i always leaned towards genetics, since ive had this happen in various types of setups with various parameters.

The look a little funky but otherwise good for the eating!

i was thinking the same thing. from my experience in what i've been doing so far, it doesn't seem like it's an FAE or humidity problem, and the other thing is that none of the other cakes had this happen. so im leaning towards genetics as well.

in my case, no external chemicals were introduced
not even peroxide

so no, this isnt a lysol/petro-chemical reaction...once again, in my case.
