Open or closed windows

When having a grow operation, should the windows in the room be closed or open? *Is it not good to have fresh air from outside? *I've read somewhere that contaminant spores usually circulate inside houses not outside, so the air that comes in would probably be clean *I've also read that green mold grows in stagnant air (when your windows are closed there's no air circulation and you can't really just leave the fan on the whole day because that'll waste energy) PEACE

I'm not sure I understand the question but if you curious about enviromentals like that, my last fruiting chamber was setup in my livingroom in front of the fireplace. That's constant foot-traffic all around them with doors opening and closing constantly.

Keep in mind that inoculating or whatever in front of a flow hood won't help your bad substrate, your bad inoculant, your bad sterile procedure, etc. etc. etc. It's not a +3 flowhood of magic, it's just a tool.

Yeah I dont see how opening a window would be an issue. Remember, in an FC we are just trying to imitate the species natural habitat to the best of our ability, not to mention we try to improve and keep it constant as well.

as the others said its not near as big of a deal once the sub. is fully colonized but you still want to keep things as clean as possible like keeping your fc a couple of feet of the ground because that is the most likley place contams will be.

For fruiting areas, the more air the better. When doing inoculations or other sterile work, close all windows and doors to stop drafts. RR
