I have 12 quarts of fully colonized wbs. They have been 100% for 10 days. How much longer are they good for. Can I use them in a week or so?

I have kept jars for that long colonized before, but the longer you let them sit the more likely they are to contaminate.
Personally, I wouldn't wait a week to use them, but that's just my opinion.

Circumstances permitting, throw 'em in the fridge.
They'll definetly be good to wait for a week in there.
Just make sure you put 'em in the fridge, and not the freezer.

It is less likely to contam.

I used 2 month old WBS before. The only thing I noticed was that it was hard as a rock! If you have your WBS in jars, you will need to sterilize a spoon or knife (not flimsy!) and dig it out.
Other than than it worked great! I did nothing to preserve it, it was just sitting in my room for the 2 months prior to me using it.
It colonized at normal speeds that I would expect from the strain I used as well.
Good luck!

Mycofile found that the longer it was left colonised at incubating or room temps then the more potent the resulting shrooms were. He was talking about leaving them for several months, and said he and others who took them found a marked increase in potency.
When colonised they will have developed their own natural protection against contams so you should be fine, biggest worry is probably drying out due to excess air exchange.
Remember sclerotia is kept for 6+ months colonising before harvesting.

I have some wbs thats about a month past full colonization, I'm just out of tubs and pans and about everything else. Last time i used really old wbs (when i used an incubator i used to just leave them there) but last time i used it it worked fine, but it was hard as a rock as stated before so you will need a spoon.
