Re: Mycelium Culture- how much per jar?

5ml should be enough, as long as the mycelium mix is well colonized.

You could inject 10cc per jar, provided you altered the amount of water added to substrate accordingly, as you said you planned. But it seems like using 10cc would be overkill. My experience with liquid mycellium has been very good and you will see the myc. you inject instantly (naturally) and then see it expanding on the second or third day. From there it colonizes at the normal rate-- the advantage is only that you skip those first 4-6 days where you're usually waiting to see the very first signs of growth. It saves you a week, basically, but I think 10cc would be overkill and, preparing that many syringes, you'd just be increasing the possibility of introducing a contaminant.

Best of luck.

I use 2 cc in a quart jar and 10 cc in a spawn bag. If you use more than 5 cc in a jar you definitely need to reduce your moisture content. An easy way to offset the water in the injection is to add 2 grams of powdered gympsum per quart jar. Everything balances out that way. But although using more sounds great, if your dealing with rye grain or rye seed substrate you really don't gain much with regards to time till full colonization. I've run extensive tests and the gain is no more than a day. However with cake substrates you would definitely gain an advantage by using more.
