Outdoor Help Please!!!!!!

okay i got 4 cakes, two fully colonized today (ill leave them for another 4-5 days or so to fulla colonize the inside , and just to be sure) the other two cakes are about 95% colonized, got about parts the size of quarters on the side that isnt colonized. anyways, i might just fruit one or two of themin a tupperware container or whatnot. well abuot the other two cakes, i wanna set up a patch or something of the sort . I have read moe's tekk and it seems very promising , but i live in california and NOWHERE near a farm or anywhere that would have some cow manure, perhaps i should try the nurseries. But back on subject now, is there a way i can just crumble up the two cakes, throw em in a hole and throw some soil over it ? or if someone has had good experience with any other tekk that doesnt require straw or manure it would help alot.
thanks for reading guys, everyone's been helpful and i know i wouldnt be where i am today without the shroomery and the guys replynig to my posts.
