So my jars are stalled....
    #7186039 - 07/16/07 11:58 PM (17 years, 6 months ago)

So I have some stalled WBS jars...

I think it was caused by too much shaking or the incubator being too hot. either way, they are all at about 60-70% colonized. What should I do? Dump the excess WBS, and used the colonized substrate, or is it damaged?

Any info or help is much appreciated my friends :]

The jars were inoculated (multispore) about 1 1/2 months ago. Quart jars as per Doc's WBS tek. :]

Although they can be damaged by over shaking I doubt that is the problem,I'm guessing it is either an issue with them suffering from lack of Fae or that you may have some bacterial contamination and the mycelium thinks it is fully colonized

You can take out the colonized portion and use it,I had to to this many times when I use to always get 2 inched of uncolonized mush at the bottom of my wbs jars, just salvage what you can and try being careful not to use any uncolonized material so you don't increase your risk of being prone to contamination
