Speech for the war on drugs - 4 myths dispelled; but not really.
Anybody read that?
The war on drugs is pretty fucking stupid, but i'll leave it at that; ok, maybe not...
It's not drugs that are the problem, it's abuse. The speech says that just as many people in car crashes are on marijuana as are people drunk on alcohol. However, they don't say if the people using dope were ALSO using alcohol. I think weed would be more likely to cause you to drive much more slowly  All this shit spewed from Hutchinson's mouth makes me sick. (BTW that was a metaphor, not literal, heh).
It something that can make me proud to live in Canada

In seeing that so many people that endorse drug-myths DO support SPORTS..... I suggest a comparision of how many people get injured playing ball etc... versus the damage done by any certain drug.
I can see it on bumpers now:

(SPORTS KILL & INJURE!)
Please Just SAY NO to DODGE BALL!!

This is VERY true. Obviosly dodge ball is a "gateway" sport that leads to more harmfull sports such as football and MTV's show Jack Ass.

Man, I'm SICK and TIRED of people linking something as natural as dodgeball to heavier sports like football and Jackass! Hey, if I can play it in my backyard, that should be MY right!

Their is a group out their trying to ablolish dodgeball from public schools. They say that it is a violent and non incleusive sport which selects weaker, slower children for elimination.
I made a wussification of america thread about this a while ago, that and kids having to wear helmets while riding their bikes. Maybe those kids wouldnt be soo weak and slow if someone were to throw more didgeballs at them..

I never played dodgeball, I was'nt forced either, most kids did play, but I just went and looked for cool rocks in the play sand.

Jammer has a good point.
(In the following post I will focus on marijuana, because it is a drug that has never been proven to cause any harm to a user)
People who are anti-drug usually point out that drugs are physically harmful. Yet, sports(which they tout as a way to "steer clear of drugs") account for much more injuries than marijuana.
I think that most people who are viruently anti-drug are not so because of valid scientific facts. They are anti-drug because of a moral belief that drugs and altered states of conciousness are "dirty". Yet they won't admit this, and they try to cite statistics to show that their beliefs have a grounding in scientific fact.
I think this belief that marijuana is "dirty" comes from the early government propaganda. I think it was an attempt, not to protect our health, but to try to make us "better citizens" so that our country would be stronger. Think about it, if you are a high-ranking government official, it is one of your main goals to make your country powerful and prosperous. In order to have a powerful and prosperous nation you need citizens who are more concerned with working and producing things than sitting around and getting fucked up.

I would LOVE to see a website deadicated to things like this.. The dangers of dodgeball and high school sports as oposed to the dangers of drugs.. That would be fucking great if someone did it the right way.
