couple of questions

my vermiculite isnt very coarse. its very fine almost grain like. is this a problem or should i try to find vermiculite that is coarser? also, how much water would someone suggest for the PF cake recipe? my last jars were kinda watery

your Verm is probably ok.

2 cups of Verm
1 cup of water
1 cup of BRF

is that enough for 3 jars? also i want to use the oven tek, buy my ovens racks are not solid but are the kind that have holes in them if u know what i mean. the rack looks like the one on top of a gril above the charcoal. can i still use this?

I suppose you can still do it as long as you have something to work on that is close to the oven...

I use fine verm for my jars..
the only time i use course is for a bottom layer of casing..
and a finer one for the top...but dont go extreme on the substrate for jars...cause without the water the verm doesnt have any nutrition value...or something

mellojello your oven sounds like every oven I have seen. If you can feel warm air rising you will be OK.

I too use a fine verm as well as the recipe Roadkill mentioned (I got it from him) and it is picture perfect every time. I use a pressure cooker @15lbs for 1hr to sterilize the jars. You could just boil them and avoid the dry heat of the oven all-together.

yes you can still use that what i do is to put a pizza tray or cookie sheet on the rack.
