How does nature prevent contaminants?
    #717941 - 07/02/02 11:18 AM (22 years, 5 months ago)

I was just wondering how "some fat hoe named mother nature", as said my Moe prevents contams from taking over outdoor patches?

This is a complicated issue but basically outside the mycelium become part of a natural ecosystem that they are evolved to live in harmoniously, but the mold and other things that attack indoors are opportunistic organisms that take advantage of situations of greatly concentrated food (such as substrate before it is 100% colonized) that grow and multiply using the food as quickly as possible. The mycelium are at risk indoors because of the lack of other beneficial organisms that inhabit the wild environment that prevent the mold from taking hold.

Hope that is accurate and helps.
