 A lil more pressure cooker questions

I just got this PC and I'm not exactly sure how it works. I know I have to put about an inch of water in but do I put the jars directly in the water? This PC does have a shelf that goes in it but it comes up halfway and I wanted to fit as many jars in it as possible. Thanks

Just make sure you have something between the bottom of the PC and the bottom of the jars, like a towel or dish rag.

Also, if you've room at the top, you can lay some jars down sideways.

Ya its fine, whistling is normal. The only sound that isn't normal is a 12 gauge shotgun blast sound, thats when something is clogging the place where steam come out and the safty vaulve explodes. That happened to me yesterday, lets just put it this way....my pants aren't clean anymore.....
