compost question

i was wondering if i used DR bluethumbs compost if i NEED casng or if i could just not use one. cause i dont have anything to case with and i have some compost. i was gunna break up a cake from a myco bag that wont pin. anybody got any input? thanks.

You can fruit off compost uncased too, if you grow P. cubensis, but you have to mantain higher humidity then as with casing.
