Hmmm...I'm going to hazard a guess that you will link to the Weston A. Price Foundation.

paraphrased from, Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon

Quote:

Lard or pork fat is about 40% saturated, 48% monounsaturated (including small amounts of antimicrobial palmitoleic acid) and 12 % polyunsaturated. Small, but equal amounts of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids are present in varying amounts based on the pigs' diets. It is an excellent source of Vitamin D in poorer countries where animal foods can be expensive.

Lard also contains traces of Vitamin E.

The wide range of fats is a great building block for nutrient absorption, so using lard to cook with in a meal containing vegetables from many different families and grains can lead to a healthier life. So long as one doesn't overdo it with lard (like any fat or any food in general) they should remain healthy.

*I found a bunch of articles, none pertaining to Weston Price and the X-factor, that all echoed this.

Sally Fallon is an officer in the Weston A. Price Foundation.

Weston A. Price was a dentist who claimed to have discovered that a diet centered around large amounts of meat and animal fat would promote human health and prevent tooth decay.  He was not a scientist, not a doctor, not even an R.D.  In short, he had no education nor professional qualifications to arrive at scientifically-sound conclusions about the human diet.

There are no benefits to consuming meat and animal fat that are not outweighed by the health risks involved.  All the essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals may be obtained through a vegan diet.
