fogging my house to kill bugs

i need to fog my house because i have a small bug problem, would it be ok to just leave my setups how they are (with just lids) or should i cover them up with blankets? would doing this be bad for them or not, should i worry about it? sorry so many q's but i don't wanna lose everything! thanks for reading...
