Orangish hue on cakes

On 3 of my colonizing jars (nearly 100%) there is an orangish color in the middle on the side of the jars, under the inoculation sites. Ive also noticed these cakes have a bit more water condesation on the glass.. is this water damnage or contams.. the spots have not spread at all in the past week or so. It looks like mycelium just slightly orangish

As my cakes get more and more colonized i see water drops along the outside of the cake. Those spots sometimes get to be a yellowish color. I think you're probably alright...but im not 100% positive.

Mycelium doesn't eat vermiculite - as far as I'm aware, nothing eats vermiculite.

I'm sure it's nothing. My cakes have a yellowish/orangish hue to them but they aren't contamed it's just the condensation of the cakes. it's all natural2me!

I agree with fanatek...cause if the mycelium did eat the verm, then using a dry casing layer in jars to prevent contams would be useless. If its damp, its just using the water in the verm for food.

I too have a couple of jars with a spot or two of copper/orange color. I can't say whether that's okay or not, but I've heard before that others have encountered this without problems.
