I am looking to make my own lids for substrate jars with filter patches and injection ports. I have read around and it seems that some prefer different things. some prefer tyvek filters, some prefer others that are more like disks.
Where can I find self-healing injection ports that can withstand Pressure Cooking.....? Where can I find filters that will withstand Pressure Cooking.....? I posted in the contamination forum because I feel that they have to deal with contamination and I don't know what works best to keep them out. I figure you would have clues...

filters = use tyvek ports = use RTV, room temperature vulcanization silicone. They'll have it at major builder supply stores.

Cool thanks. I read a deal where they used that. someone said somethign about using a glass piece to press it against to make it flat. I guess I will use that method.

Not trying to pimp myself or anything, but it just so happens I wrote a tek on the subject, available in the tek section, under "Sterile Culture Techniques." Here is the link: http://www.shroomery.org/9413/Low-Dough-Self-Sealing-Inoculation-Lids
Good luck, and RTV can be found at any auto parts store.
