Cleaning out my MOLDY tubs.

I had some tubs which colonized green mold. I dumped the moldy substrate out and cleaned it with hot water. I then nuked it with 2 different kinds of lysol cleaners, the lysol spray clean and the lysol disposable rags. I did this for a while, waited 2 weeks then lysol cleaned them again. Mold should not beable to survive my next upcoming substrate mix right? I really dont want to use bleach. Unless its a MUST.

Lysol is worst then bleach IMO it will cause mutations and stuff. I always use bleach and never had a problem. But it don't matter cuz with all you did it should be clean by now.

just wash with soap and water.... line your trays with aluminum foil, it will keep alot of the mess out next time.

I clean bad tubs by simply washing out with Lysol(The liquid stuff that smells good, not the can that causes disfiguring burns "
Than just rinse and rinse, let them dry and leave them alone till next you need them, they will be fine

I had a mono-tub go green once, instead of messing around spreading spores everywhere, I took the whole thing and threw it in the dumpster. Problem solved!
I'm sure its overkill, but I hate the idea of spreading contam spores all over my house.

Every time I pick up a can I can't help but imagine you running around like Pyror, with a glovebox melted to your arms and your eyebrows burnt off...
I usually rinse out my tubs with water and then spray them down with Alcohol solution, wiping clean... I have gone from a spent and neglected substrate with a few green patches to a clean and freshly spawned bin within an hour of each other... two weeks seems like some voodoo to me but you should be safe!

I wouldn't recommend this... what would the average employee or waste management specialist think upon discovery of such a foreign object? It is gone in your mind but it is now a problem for someone else! Also it is not appropriate to use others dumpsters, especially if disposing of illegal organic material generated in your spare time.

Ah ha,I got to keep my eyebrows due to the fact that my "Glovebox" isn't a glovebox at all,it has no gloves and nothing plastic whatsoever, all glass so I just lost my forearm hair in the great explosion
O and I personally never throw anything away in my own garbage,I go into more detail on that subject in my "Neglect" thread here >> http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/7021766#7021766
