Although they're pinning/fruiting at a pretty rapid rate the fruits are VERY small. The veil already broke on the oldest one and its only about 2 inches with the cap being a bit larger than a pencil eraser. The temp in the terraruim is 82 and humidity is at 90%. Did I do something wrong?

what strain? B+? This is common for that particular srain, assumimg that is the one.

I'm done with drugs and growing mushrooms forever, or at least until the current drug laws change, its not worth the risk to me. The temp should be 70-75 for optimal growth and try to get the rh up to 100%. Just follow the Tek you are using, im sure it doesn't say 80 degrees for fruiting.

They are Lippa yai's and i'm doing PF's tek. Is it the temp that makes the fruits smaller? or the humidity? Thanks...

I just cased my first time, and I used Thai Lipa Yai's also.
My did the same thing. I had over 100 shrooms........but they were thin and small caps like you said. All those shrooms only came out to be about 11 grams dried.

Maybe its the same strain, or maybe we got the same syringes....
or maybe we are losers...

forgive me if I'm wrong but isn't the potency of a 2" shroom just as equal as the potecy of a 20" shroom (haha, thatd be nice)--I keep tossing over this b/c I've been told that, given the same strain, a shroom hold just as much power as the next, but then again, dont they KEEP making their power up until the veil breaks? So really I guess it's determined by when the veil pops

How many jars you cased with? Or is it from a cake? My first grow was lipa's and I only used one half pint jar, and the shrooms were small like that. I didnt get bigger ones untill the next time I used 4 and 5 half pint jars.

I have 10 cakes (PF) of Lippa Yais. Actually I got the syringes from Ralphster. I really thought alot of the size had to do with the enviornment. I thought maybe it was too hot for fruiting? Around 80? 75? Too hot? Anyone?
I realize the mushroom will contain a certin amount of pilocin/psilocybin no matter how big it is. But come on now, this is ridiculous. When I cased before from a different tek the mushrooms were on crack, they were so big it was obscene.
i know size, strain all that... but its weird that they're SO SMALL. i appreciate all of your input. Thanks.

the single most important factor in size of a shroom is the variety. second is the ratio of surface to volume, which in turn has to do with a host of environmental factors like gas exchange in particular. i don't believe temp has a lot to do with it except that it may affect some other environmental factors. generally more surface to volume yeilds more pins which in turn produce more mushrooms, which in turn will consume the food supply, which in turn will yeild smaller shrooms. people who grow edibles for show, remove all the compeating pins. if you are growing cubies, chances are size doesn't matter. but if you are growing a strain like PF house variety, then it would be wise to pick off any pins that don't look perfect, since they will be replaced in short order anyway. since you are not. . . try increasing gas exchange a little, but otherwise, be happy, you've got shrooms!
