Hey everyone! this site is cool! i have been searching the boards for a while and decided I'd buy a syringe from a vendor and try the pf tek out. Shrooms are cool I usually get them from the cow fields but decided to try growing them...I followed annos pf tek for simplistic minds and the results were great....does anyone have any suggestions on how I can grow more shrooms and bigger shrooms? i got shrooms but it seems like they are small and weak.

One thing you should do with a cake like that is called dunk and roll. Do a search for those words and you'll get a wealth of info. The idea is to soak the cake overnight, and roll in dry vermiculite so the verm sticks to the cake and retains moisture. If you want still more you should look into casing and bulk substrates.

Hey simplemachine! thank you. I have heard of dunking before but I thought bacteria might get on my cake from the water so I just put it in my fruiting tote.

if you're cakes are fully colonized then there is no need to worry about bacteria invading them when dunking.
to be on the safe side you can use sterilized water or spring water, I usually use tap water with no problems.

yea after you pick those shrooms, dunk and roll your cakes and youll have a better 2nd flush

Nice shrooms bro, All i can say is dunk and roll those guys and you will get MUCH larger shrooms, I did a couple cakes with no dunk and roll and the rest dunk and rolled and the difference is crazy.

Yeah just wait until you harvest the first and dunk for the second. It is ok if their are little pins on the cake when you dunk before the second flush. If you dunked them with the mature shrooms it would just ruin and water long them.

Yes. Cakes should be dunked after they are removed from the jar at 100% colonization. That way they have that extra water for the 1st flush!
