My shroom for today iiis,,

Habitat - Found in a grassy field grazed by sheep,, amongst nettles and thistles.
Gills - Off white when young,, the older specimen's turned a pinky beige after picking. Not attached to stem.
Stem - Beige to cream in colour, fibrous, slightly bulbous at the base, no ring present, doesn't snap if bent.
Cap - Bell shaped when young, conical or nearly so when older. Grey beige in colour, darker at it's peak. Slightly sticky but not slimy.
Spore print - Not going to happen,, left it out over night and it won't drop,,
Location - UK.
I did think maybe 'Volvariella (something ?)' but i don't know,, i never got to see the base before picking.
And i'll post this deformed but cute Marasmius oreades. First time i've seen one like that,,

.....

Thanks for any help on the ID..

Your un-IDed mushroom looks like a psathyrella to me, the general appearance resembles the photo of ps. marcescibilis in one of my guides.

I'm thinking some type of hygrocybe, but it can't be told.

It couldn't be a Psathyrella, those have darker gills.
Even though I can't see the base, this mushroom is almost certainly Volvariella speciosa.

Thanks !..
Volvariella gloiocephala was the closest thing in my book but it didn't look quite right,, and my book's not very good.
But great,, i'm happy now,,, . I can see why they're closely related to the Amanitas.
They're an attractive shroom..
Thanks for the help and kind words everyone.

How about Leucoagaricus naucina? The rings on those are so fragile that it wouldn't mean anything to find specimens without rings.
Happy mushrooming!
