You're way too cynical!

Sorry Liz.   I feel bad saying this stuff when I know that sweet Shroomery women friends like you will be reading it....but everything that I am saying has been proven time and time again in my life.

Not all women are untrustworthy cheating sluts.

I never said that they were.  I am just telling everybody the signs that they need to look for and the predictable behavior that they exhibit when caught.

My ex fiance who I was with for 5 years stayed home sick one day from work.  Our apartment was about 1 mile from my office at the time, so I decided to be "nice" and bring him home chicken soup on my lunch break.  I walk in to him fucking another girl in our house, on our bed.

Guys can definately be sluts too.  If I was a chick I wouldn't trust the male sex either.

Oh I know it.
I'm a guy. I understand that every guy, on some level, wants to fuck the girls they befriend. It's the way we work.
I don't think I have much to worry about though. It's love, and she's been totally honest so far. Granted, there's always the possibility. But if it happens, it happens. I'm not going to be a jealous douchebag about her friends, because that just adds on to the possibility.

Which is why I don't get involved in these threads too often. Most of the guys on the Shroomery are. Give up, you won't change it. They all think women are backstabbers. (I'd venture a guess that this is because they go into every relationship viewing it as a "game" to be "played" but hey, that's just me.)

No, I actually started out as a sweet guy and I still am.  In fact, I'm too sweet for my own good.  I often have to force myself to be cautious and reserved.

When you and all of your friends start to notice the same stuff over and over again with certain types of women then you get wise.

I guess with me, it's always been that I have never "dated." I have never, ever been on a "date." The only time I have ever been in what you would call a relationship is after befriending a girl and getting to know her for quite some time before taking it to any other level. So the hanging out just evolves into, something more intricate.

Just find a nice girl and hang on to her   That's the best thing you can do.  Treat her right, be honest with her - and kick that bitch to the curb if she doesn't treat you the same.

I agree that there are many, many dishonest women out there - but there are just as many dishonest men, maybe even more.

I've cheated once in my entire life, and I still hate myself for it.  I was about 16, in a volatile relationship with a severely bipolar guy - my first love.  Every time I would try to break up with him, he would threaten to kill himself.  I believed him, and stayed with him because of it.  Every guy I was friends with, he thought I was fucking.  Every night I went out, he would show up there, checking in on me.  I knew that the only was this was going to end was by making him break up with me, so I cheated on him and told him about it.  If I was smarter then and know the things I know now, I would have handled it very differently

Yeah, I've never "dated" either.  It's usually like you just start hanging out and then something happens or you're both drunk.

Everything you've said in this thread is common sense man, but then again when in a relationship you give a fuck about one tends to let common sense fly out the window.

I've also only had sex with two women. One was a 10-month relationship, the other 4 years.

I never saw the point, and still don't, of the whole one night stand thing. Don't get me wrong, I can get horny as the next guy, and I do get that horny, but I'd just rather invest a lot in one person. Seems more gratifying. Then again, I can't compare it to anything else.

2 people!  Wow.  That's great.  I wish I could say that - I went through the slut phase that Randal described earlier in high school   It's much more enjoyable though to be with one person, and invest a lot of time and energy into it, than fuck a different guy every week.

It's fun learning which buttons get the best reaction when pressed, and then inventing all sorts of different ways in which to press them.

I like being able to look at my fiance, and know more often than not exactly what he's thinking.  Most of the time he's thinking "I wish this bitch would stop wondering what I'm thinking"....but that's besides the point :frown:

That's funny. One of the reasons I love my girlfriend so much is that, after 4 years, I still look at her and think "What the hell is going on in that head? What an interesting and mysterious person."
