Ok so I had my incubation unit set up and eveything. I go to check on the aquarium heater (in a glass of water) heating device and I think there was some water still in there so I go to poor some more and the aquarium heater's glass shatters......this sucks some serious hairy behind.

a fast change in tempature will do that to ya, next time add warm water to the jar.

consider yourself lucky that you didn't have your hands in the water when the heater broke, or you could have gotten a solid electrical shock, like it happened to me once...

Has anyone ever had their aquarium heater get some weird shit on it?
I had to throw one out cause the inside started to get crusty.

My water heater cracked on me too. I put my jars over a heating pad after that and they dried out. I only got one jar out of twelve to make it that time!
