It's not me, it's my friend. I don't know what's up. He had GREAT luck with cakes, but this casing thing seems to be taking forever!!! The mycelium looks good, just very little other activity.

ANYONE!? Mabye my friend should try deep scraching? The humidity was kind of hi for a while, might have overlay. No pull-away from the sides of the tray though. Any clues folks?

I have a go!

This is what I have read about casing.
Younger now, did your "friend" :smile:take the lid off and keep it off?

You should air your terarium out a couple times a day (1-2 minutes)to reduce the Co2.

If the humidity is to high, try putting cotton balls on the bottom of your roof so that they soak up some of the moisture. Then it won't condense on your cakes.

I havn't actually fruited EQ's so they may respond differently?Thats all I got for now.

Later good luck!

Had the same problem with my cased EQ's, i wasn't sure if they were getting overlay or not (first time casing..) so i just deep scratched anyway and two days later they started pinning  how many cakes did he case?
it takes quite a bit longer with fewer cakes, i think. make sure its humid enough, enough air exchange, and what helped me out a lot is using one of those reptile under-tank heaters with a rheostat. Raises the humidity and gets the temp pretty nice. hope this helps ur friend some

Temp. is O.K.. Air X-change isn't the problem either. I told him to deep scratch a small section of the tray and wait and see. He said he'd let me know.
