These are complicated sociological and political issues.
As far as the whole celebrity thing goes...I doubt that any big-time celebrities coming out would change dick. They are fun to watch in movies and they are nice to look at but do you listen to them when they say shit? I know I don't.

How 'bout this guy:
Or this guy:
Or maybe this guy:
Come to think of it, maybe celebrities are part of the problem.

Nobody listens to celebrities when it comes to formulating political ideas. Maybe this is because most celebrities come across as idiots when they try to do so.

Did you used to post under another name? Because I seem to remember the Jessica Alba uncle story before.
Jessica Alba is so fucking hot that I might be willing to suck this uncle's dick just to say I got somewhat close to her.

i think most super huge celebs like brad pitt etc probably don't see the point in risking their careers over legalization of drugs. when you've got so much media attention focused on you everything you do and say is scrutinized to the extreme.
putting all your beliefs out in the public spot light can seriously fuck up your career if the public turns against you. just look at what happened to tom cruise. he went all bat shit crazy over scientology and his career has since fizzled. MI3 tanked and his studio fired him, and he was one of the biggest leading men in hollywood.
on top of that, who's to say whether or not brad pitt supports legalization? he might be against it. there's plenty of people who use drugs yet don't support outright legalization.

I think its in part due to the ideology that most "stereotypical" drug users have.
Until we can get rid of the "Smoke mad dro cause I got it going on," "smoke 2 blunts in the afternoon...etc," and "stoner culture"--it will never be taken as a serious alternative to other stuff.
Alcohol is (usually..in commercials anyway) associated with classiness. We need more classy/opulent people to come forth, and kill the "stoner" stereotype.
Brad won't do. We all know him and Angelina are fucking nuts.
